2. General Payment Terms
All lessons must be paid in advance via secure third‑party providers. Lesson packages are prepaid and valid for the selected subscription period (3, 6, or 12 months). Monthly recurring plans are billed at the beginning of each month. Payments for monthly recurring packages are due at the start of each billing cycle.

3. Refund Eligibility
3.1 Cooling-Off Period (14 Days)
  • If you purchase a lesson package or monthly subscription online, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, provided that no lessons have been taken.
  • If you request the service to begin during the cooling-off period and a lesson is completed, you acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel and receive a refund under this section.
3.2 After the Cooling-Off Period (No Refunds for Change of Mind)
  • After the 14-day cooling-off period has expired, no refunds will be issued for change of mind, dissatisfaction, or non-attendance. This includes situations where:
  • The student decides they do not wish to continue
  • The student does not like the teacher (teacher replacement is available instead)
  • The student finds the course unsuitable
  • The student misses lessons without proper cancellation
3.3 Exceptional Circumstances (Discretionary Refunds)
  • In the event of exceptional circumstances (e.g., serious long-term illness preventing attendance, permanent relocation to a time zone where we cannot schedule lessons), you may contact us to request a discretionary review.
  • If we approve a refund under such circumstances, it will be calculated as follows:
  • Refund = Total Amount Paid – (Number of lessons conducted × Regular single-lesson price)
  • Where:
  • Regular single-lesson price is the standard price for a single lesson without any package discount (currently $7.00 or as published on our website).
  • Lessons conducted include any lessons missed without proper cancellation (as per Section 4 below).
  • Any refund approved under this section is a gesture of goodwill and does not create a precedent or obligation for future requests.
3.4 Our Obligations
  • If we are unable to provide the services due to our own fault (e.g., we cancel all classes permanently), you will be entitled to a pro-rata refund of unused lessons calculated at the package rate.
3.5 Monthly Recurring Lessons (No Package)
For users on a monthly recurring lesson plan:
  • Monthly payments are processed automatically at the beginning of each billing cycle.
  • These payments are non-refundable once the billing cycle has commenced.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time to stop future payments. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund for the current month's payment, regardless of how many lessons have been used.
  • If you cancel mid-month, you may continue attending any remaining lessons scheduled for that month, or you may forfeit them (no refund).
  • The 14-day cooling-off period applies only to your first monthly payment and only if no lessons have been taken during that period.

4. Lesson Cancellation and Rescheduling
  • Lessons may be rescheduled without penalty if the request is made at least 8 hours before the scheduled start time.
  • If cancellation occurs less than 8 hours before the lesson, the lesson is considered completed and will be deducted from your package balance or counted as used for monthly plans. It will not be refunded or rescheduled, unless the teacher agrees to a different time (in which case no refund is given).
  • A maximum of two lessons per month may be carried over to the next month if cancelled with proper notice (at least 8 hours). Carried-over lessons must be used within that next month; unused make-up lessons expire at the end of that month and are not refundable or transferable.

5. Teacher Cancellations
If a teacher cannot conduct a lesson due to technical issues, personal emergency, or force majeure, the School will offer either:
  • A rescheduled lesson at a mutually convenient time, or
  • A full refund for that specific lesson (or credit back to your balance).

6. Non-Refundable Situations Summary
Refunds will not be issued in the following cases:
  • Change of mind after the 14-day cooling-off period
  • Dissatisfaction with a teacher (teacher replacement is the remedy)
  • Lessons missed without at least 8 hours' notice
  • Technical problems on the student's side (internet, device, etc.)
  • Lessons already conducted
  • Monthly payments for the current billing cycle (even if unused lessons remain)

7. Refund Processing Time
Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days. The actual time for the funds to appear in your account depends on your payment provider or bank.

8. Refund Method
Refunds will be issued using the same payment method as the original transaction whenever possible. If that is not feasible, we will arrange an alternative method (e.g., bank transfer) after contacting you.

9. How to Request a Refund (or Discretionary Review)
To request a refund or discretionary review under exceptional circumstances, please send an email to info@grandenglishcourses.com with the following information:
  • Student's full name
  • Parent/guardian's full name
  • Payment date and amount
  • Reason for the request
  • Any supporting documentation (if applicable, e.g., medical certificate)

10. Complaint Window
Any complaint regarding the quality of a lesson must be reported to us within 24 hours of the lesson's completion. If no complaint is received within this period, the lesson is considered properly conducted and is not eligible for any credit or refund.

11. Policy Updates
Grand English Courses may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The most current version will always be published on our website, and the effective date will be updated accordingly.
